3.1.3 is a small maintenance release. It fixes a display bug in the shield regeneration graphic (which no one seemed to notice!). It also addresses a couple of small storm-mode bugs. You may find it in the download section. |

I have finally begun my next game, Battlegrass, in earnest. Battlegrass will be a fun, colourful and fast abstract shooter. It will be easy to play but tough to conquer. I'm aiming at the type of game that's a blast to sit down and play for 15 minutes or so. Yes, 'Battlegrass' is an absolutely ridiculous name. That's a big part of why I love it. The story behind Battlegrass: Some time last year, say late 2005, one of the massage therapists I work with (thanks James!) came in one morning and described a dream he had the night before. He and his brother had been playing a fast shooter that I had created called 'Battlegrass'. He went on to describe a few features that really surprised me, since they were game elements I'd long been toying with myself. It was all too fantastic to just let drop, so over the months I took down a few notes and threw a few idle ideas around, until I'm finally at a place where work can commence So there you have it - deliberately hazy for the moment - (like a dream!). More will be revealed in time. |

I have decided to wipe the online hiscore table to coincide with the release of version 3.1 The gameplay difficulty balance has shifted slightly with this release. For example, the planet Astariel is now guarded by the 'Astariel Boss' (for want of a better name) - which really makes it unfair to compare new scores against previous efforts. I hope this wipe doesn't upset too many people. What I can say is that I have no immediate plans for further large gameplay changes - so I hope to leave the table untouched from now on in. Oh... and sorry!  |
